Board our shuttle with our pilots and head up to the summit of the Col de la Forclaz. You can already start admiring the view over the lake… but let yourself be tempted by the adventure! The ascent itself is already a spectacle — the first panoramic views over Lake Annecy from the heights of the pass set the scene perfectly for what awaits in the air.
🪂 Step 2 — The Take-Off! 1, 2, 3… Go!
1, 2, 3… Run and take off!! A few running steps and suddenly — no ground beneath your feet. The lake appears in all its splendour, the Alps stretch endlessly into the distance and silence settles, broken only by the breath of the wind beneath the wing. A moment of absolute grace.
👥 Step 3 — Sharing the Flight from Above!
Depending on the time of year and your group size, you may also have the chance to take off at the same time as your colleagues, sharing your paragliding flight together from the air. Can people with a fear of heights take part ?
Paragliding is far more impressive to watch than to do — with absolutely no sensation of vertigo. In tandem flight, you are seated comfortably in a harness while the instructor manages all aspects of piloting. The sensation is one of gentle gliding through the air — nothing like the leap into the void that many people imagine !
Do you need prior paragliding experience ?
None whatsoever! The flight is done in tandem with a state-certified instructor who manages the wing entirely. Your only role is to run at take-off and enjoy the panorama. No technical skill is required — this is an activity accessible to everyone.
Who are the instructors supervising the flights ?
Each flight takes place in an intimate one-to-one setting with a state-certified instructor. These are certified, experienced and passionate professionals who fly at the Col de la Forclaz daily and have an intimate knowledge of Lake Annecy's flying conditions.
Can the group fly together at the same time ?
Depending on the period and group size, you may be able to take off simultaneously with your colleagues and share your paragliding flight together. Watching your entire group soaring above the lake at the same time is an absolutely unique spectacle and a genuinely memorable collective experience.
How long does a paragliding flight last ?
A tandem flight typically lasts between 15 and 30 minutes depending on thermal conditions. Including the shuttle transfer to the Col de la Forclaz and the return journey, allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours per rotation. Takamaka organises rotations to ensure every participant flies in the best possible conditions.
Is the flight guaranteed regardless of weather ?
Like all aerial activities, paragliding is subject to weather conditions. In the event of strong winds, storms or low cloud, safety takes absolute priority. Takamaka monitors conditions in real time and will inform you promptly to adapt the programme if needed.
Is there a keepsake after the flight ?
Yes ! At landing, a baptism of the air certificate is presented to every participant — the official and unexpected memento of this unique experience above Lake Annecy. Some instructors also offer in-flight photos or videos as an optional extra.
