The activity is not recommended for pregnant women. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time. How the activity works

1

Welcome and meeting the horses

Meet your state-certified instructor at La Féclaz 15 minutes before the start. Get introduced to the horses and the sleigh, receive your safety briefing and settle in comfortably for departure. A first connection with the animals before you set off.
2

Departure on the Grand Revard plateau

The sleigh glides off across the snowy trails of the Grand Revard plateau, deep in the Bauges regional natural park. For 30 minutes, let the steady trot of the horses carry you through breathtaking winter landscapes.
3

Immersed in the Bauges winter scenery

Snow-covered forests, sweeping white expanses, crisp alpine air and absolute silence — the Grand Revard plateau reveals itself in all its winter splendour. Your instructor points out the most beautiful viewpoints along the route.
4

Return and end of ride

Back at the starting point after 30 minutes on the trail. A last moment with the horses before heading off — eyes wide with wonder and, for the youngest (and least young!) riders, already wanting to come back for more.

FAQ

What's the difference between the sleigh ride and ski joering?

With the sleigh ride, you sit in the sleigh and are pulled by the horses — no sporting ability required, suitable for everyone including children and non-skiers. Ski joering requires the ability to ski (blue run level) as the participant is pulled while standing on skis. The sleigh is the gentler, more family-friendly of the two experiences.

Is this activity suitable for children?

Yes, the sleigh ride is one of the most family-friendly winter activities available! No sporting level or horse experience is needed. Children love it — just make sure everyone has a warm outfit (gloves and hat essential) and sunglasses.

How long does the activity last in total?

The total duration is approximately 1 hour, including 30 minutes of actual sleigh riding on the snowy trails of the Grand Revard. The remaining time covers the welcome, meeting the horses, the safety briefing and the return.

Where does the ride take place and how do I get there?

The ride takes place on the Grand Revard plateau at La Féclaz, in the Bauges regional natural park in Savoie. Transport to the site is not included. La Féclaz is accessible by car from Annecy in approximately 40 minutes. In winter, a vehicle fitted with snow tyres or chains is mandatory.

Are there any physical restrictions?

Participants must be mobile and able to sit down and stand up independently. The activity is not recommended for pregnant women. No particular sporting fitness is required — this is one of the most accessible winter activities in the Takamaka catalogue.

What happens if I'm late?

It is essential to arrive 15 minutes before the stated start time. Any late arrival results in the loss of the booking without refund — sessions are timed and the horses' schedule cannot accommodate delays. Plan your journey well in advance, especially given winter road conditions.

What happens in bad weather?

In the event of genuinely dangerous conditions, Takamaka reserves the right to adapt or cancel the activity for your safety. That said, snow, cold and fog are normal winter conditions at La Féclaz and are not in themselves grounds for cancellation

Can I offer this as a gift?

It's the perfect winter gift for a family, a couple or anyone who wants a truly magical moment in the snow! Gift vouchers are available directly on our website, with instant email delivery in just a few clicks.
