What is the difference between close-up magic and a stage show ?
In close-up, magicians move from table to table and perform their tricks centimetres from spectators — for an intimate, interactive experience. In a stage show, they deliver a full performance worthy of the greatest magic shows, in front of the entire assembled group. The two formats complement each other beautifully — some events combine both for a two-act evening: intimacy during dinner and a grand stage finale.
Does close-up magic work well during dinner ?
Yes — and that's one of its greatest strengths! During your cocktail reception or dinner, magicians move between tables. Close-up magic integrates seamlessly into the free moments of dinner — between courses, during dessert — without ever disrupting the service or the convivial atmosphere around the table.
How many magicians do you recommend for our evening ?
This depends on your group size and chosen format. For a close-up dinner, we generally recommend one magician per 30 to 50 guests. For larger groups, two or three magicians can animate different areas of the room simultaneously. Contact Takamaka for personalised advice.
