How the activity works
🗺️ Organisation & How it works
After a general briefing on the mission and how to use the compass and map, your vessel and crew are ready to set sail! Each participant is assigned a strategic role to carry throughout the rally.
⚓ Navigation & Stopovers
Teams must find their bearing using navigation instruments, solve riddles and take on sporting challenges or tasting stopovers. As your crew crosses the lake, you'll discover its shores, villages and traditions in a completely unique and unforgettable way.
🏆 The Race for the Treasure Chest!
At the end of all the stages, each crew accumulates points and may be crowned the Greatest Navigators of all time! The fastest, cleverest and most coordinated team claims eternal glory on the lake !

Do you need sailing or navigation experience to take part ?
Not at all ! The initial briefing covers everything you need to know about using a compass, reading a map and steering the boat. The motorboats are straightforward to handle and the Takamaka team accompanies every crew to ensure safety and enjoyment on board throughout.
Do you need a boating licence ?
No licence or sailing experience is required. The boats are designed to be accessible to everyone and a full technical briefing is provided before departure. The Takamaka team maintains constant supervision over the entire fleet at all times.
How long does the Boat Rally last ?
The Great Navigators Boat Rally runs over a half-day (approximately 2h30 to 3 hours), including the briefing and prize-giving ceremony. It fits seamlessly into a full seminar day or can be the centrepiece of a team building day with a sea adventure theme.
How many participants can take part ?
The activity adapts to different group sizes, with each crew aboard their own vessel. Takamaka can deploy multiple boats simultaneously to accommodate larger groups. Get in touch for a personalised quote based on your headcount.
Can the Boat Rally be combined with other activities ?

Is the Boat Rally available all year round ?
The activity is primarily offered in spring, summer and autumn, when Lake Annecy's navigation conditions are at their finest. Takamaka will advise you on the best periods based on your chosen dates and forecast weather conditions.
What happens in bad weather ?
Participant safety is Takamaka's absolute priority. Should weather conditions be incompatible with safe navigation, the team has contingency plans in place to adapt the programme and guarantee a high-quality experience regardless of conditions.
