🗺️ Organisation & How it works

⛷️ Step 1 — Welcome & Technical Briefing
You'll meet your team of Takamaka facilitators and ESF ski instructors, who will supervise you throughout the activity. After explaining the basic technique for your sledge, they'll guide you down the slope — cleared of all skiers! Turns, braking, controlled skids — a few minutes is all it takes to build confidence and let go !

🌙 Step 2 — The Descent: Magic & Adrenaline!
At sunset or on a nocturnal session after dinner, equipped with a head torch, the views will take your breath away and the moment with your team will be simply unforgettable. A reserved piste, mountain lights, crisp Alpine air and the thrill of speed — a unique sensory experience that creates a truly magical and festive atmosphere.

🏆 Step 3 — The Impromptu Race!
Don't hesitate to organise a little race between colleagues! Timed runs, head-to-head duels and team challenges — the slope naturally becomes a friendly competition arena where everyone can shine, from the most cautious to the most daring !

FAQ

Do you need to be able to ski to take part ?

Absolutely not ! The Snow-racer is accessible to everyone and its fun, easy-to-use design means you'll have full control within a single descent. This is one of the activity's greatest strengths — it puts seasoned skiers and complete beginners on exactly the same level.

When does the sledge descent take place ?

Available at La Clusaz or Le Semnoz, at slope closing time or as a nocturnal session after dinner, with head torches provided. The nocturnal session is particularly magical — the head torches, the darkened slopes and the Alpine stars create a truly extraordinary atmosphere.

How long does the activity last ?

The sledge descent typically runs for 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of descents and the group size. It is ideally positioned at the end of a seminar day or after dinner, as a festive and memorable close to the evening.

Are the descents supervised by professionals ?

Yes ! Takamaka facilitators and ESF ski instructors supervise the entire activity — covering piloting techniques, securing the descents and ensuring the smooth running of the whole session. You are in expert hands throughout.

Can the sledge descent be combined with a meal ?

Absolutely — and it's highly recommended ! At La Clusaz, the descent can be combined with a dinner at a mountain restaurant. At Le Semnoz, Takamaka offers the option of ending the descent with a meal in the Tipi Wild Camp. A complete evening, from the slopes to a convivial shared meal !

What equipment is provided ?

Snow-racers and head torches for nocturnal sessions are all provided by Takamaka. Participants are advised to wear warm, waterproof clothing, gloves and snow-appropriate footwear. Takamaka will share detailed clothing guidance ahead of your event.

How many participants can take part ?

The sledge descent adapts to different group sizes. The privatised piste format guarantees an exclusive and fully safe experience for all. Contact Takamaka for a personalised quote based on your headcount.

How do we book our Annecy Sledge Descent ?
