How the activity works
🗺️ Organisation & How it works
After fitting you with wetsuit, helmet and harness, we make our way to the canyon along a shaded path with views over Lake Annecy. Already a magical moment — the view over the lake from this wooded trail sets the scene perfectly for the adventure ahead !
A full briefing is then given by our state-certified instructors, who introduce the abseiling technique in the waterfalls. Freshness and thrills are guaranteed !
💦 Step 2 — The Descent — Slides, Jumps & Abseils!
Your instructors guide you throughout the descent between the natural water slides and the jumps. Every obstacle in the canyon becomes an invitation to push your limits — some will glide delightedly down the natural slides, others will leap into the turquoise pools, others still will abseil down through the heart of the waterfalls. A progression punctuated by screams of surprise, laughter and genuine team camaraderie !
🦎 Step 3 — Discovering the Wild Alpine Fauna
You may even be lucky enough to spot trout and salamanders in the riverbed. You'll be immersed in a little haven of calm and greenery, just a stone's throw from Lake Annecy. A preserved and secret canyon, far from tourist trails, where nature truly takes over.
🏠 Step 4 — Back to the Angon Base
At our Angon base, you can get changed in the technical chalets and enjoy a meal at the neighbouring restaurants right next to the Takamaka canyoning base. The perfect moment to share impressions, relive the best moments of the descent and enjoy a well-earned meal together in great spirits !

Do you need to be able to swim for canyoning ?
A basic comfort in water is recommended to fully enjoy the activity. Wetsuits and all safety equipment provided ensure buoyancy and protection for every participant. State-certified instructors maintain constant supervision of the group throughout.
Is canyoning accessible to complete beginners ?
Absolutely! The Angon Canyon offers the ideal descent for a canyoning introduction. The obstacles are progressive and adapted to all profiles — from the most cautious to the most daring. This is precisely what makes it the ideal formula for a corporate group with varied profiles.
What equipment is provided ?
Wetsuits in your size, helmets and harnesses are all provided and fitted by the Takamaka team before the descent. All you need to bring is your swimwear and shoes that can get wet — everything else is taken care of !
How long does the canyoning activity last ?
Just a short distance from Annecy, we'll spend 3 hours together! This time includes kit-up, briefing, the full descent and the return to the Angon base — a perfectly calibrated half-day for a memorable summer incentive.
Are professional instructors present throughout ?
Yes ! State-certified instructors supervise the entire descent, deliver the technical briefing and ensure the safety of every participant throughout the course. Their presence allows everyone to embrace the sensations with total confidence.
What if some participants don't want to do canyoning ?
For the less sporty or less adventurous, a parallel walking hike is available — an equally refreshing nature alternative that allows the whole group to share the same outing in the Angon area. Nobody is ever left behind on a Takamaka outing !
Can the group eat after the canyoning session ?
