FAQ
Do participants need DIY or construction skills ?
Absolutely not! The activity is designed to be accessible to all, regardless of manual skills. The materials provided (cardboard, tape, tubes, paint…) are simple to use and Takamaka's facilitators guide teams throughout the construction phase to ensure everyone can get involved and contribute.
How long does the activity last ?
The Soap Box Race runs over a half-day (approximately 2h30 to 3 hours), including the construction and decoration phases, the Mario & Luigi shop visit, the elegance contest and the grand race finale. It fits perfectly into a full seminar day.
Is all construction material provided ?
Yes ! Takamaka provides all the materials needed to build and decorate the vehicles, as well as all the accessories available in the Mario & Luigi shop. You don't need to bring a single thing — just your creativity and your competitive spirit!
How many participants can take part ?
The Soap Box Race scales to all group sizes, from small teams to large corporate seminars. Each team builds their own vehicle and competes in the final race. Contact Takamaka for a personalised quote based on your headcount.
Can you really steal accessories from the Mario & Luigi shop ?
That's the spice of the game! The Mario & Luigi shop introduces a layer of negotiation, strategy and cunning that takes the experience to another level entirely. Some teams will invest in the best upgrades, others will attempt audacious moves to undermine their rivals — finding the right tactic is part of the fun!
Is the elegance contest judged separately from the race ?
Yes ! Two distinct awards are given: one for the fastest team in the race and one for the most original vehicle in the elegance contest. This dual-reward format means every team has a genuine chance to win — whether their strength lies in speed, design or sheer negotiating cunning!
Where does the Soap Box Race take place in Annecy ?
The activity can be held in various spaces around Annecy depending on group size and configuration — a dedicated car park, the outdoor area of your seminar venue or a specially set-up site. Contact Takamaka to define the best location for your event.
How do we book our Annecy Soap Box Race ?
Simply contact the Takamaka team by phone or via the online contact form. They handle everything — building materials, the Mario & Luigi shop, the race track, facilitators and the trophy ceremony — for a fully turnkey, explosively fun event !
