Description

The Takamaka size L gravel bike offers total freedom around Annecy! Neither purely a road bike nor a mountain bike, the gravel bike is the ideal tool for those who want to alternate between asphalt and trails: a ride around the lake on the cycle path, a climb to the alpine pastures via forest roads, an exploration of the trails in the Bauges mountains… Gravel bikes open doors that road bikes can't.

FAQ

What size cyclist does size L correspond to?

Size L is suitable for cyclists between 1.75m and 1.85m tall. For other heights: XS (under 1.55m), S (1.55m–1.65m), M (1.65m–1.75m), and XL (over 1.85m). If you have any questions, our team can advise you in store or by phone.

What exactly is a gravel bike?

A gravel bike is a versatile bicycle designed for riding on both paved roads and unpaved paths, forest trails, or tracks. More comfortable than a road bike thanks to its wider tires, it's ideal for exploring the Annecy region without being limited to asphalt.

Do you need to be an experienced cyclist?

No — gravel bikes are accessible to all levels. Their more comfortable riding position and wider tires make them more forgiving than pure road bikes. They're suitable for beginners who want to explore at a leisurely pace as well as experienced cyclists looking for adventure.

What is included in the rental?

A size L gravel bike, helmet, repair kit (inner tube + tire levers), pump, bottle cage, and route advice from the team. Everything you need for a worry-free ride.

Are clipless pedals available ?

Yes, we have clipless pedals in stock (Look and Shimano) — just mention it when you book. If you have your own shoes and pedals, bring them along: we'll fit them for free.

What routes are recommended for gravel biking?

Gravel biking opens up numerous possibilities around Annecy: a cycle path around the lake, forest roads in the Bauges mountains, climbs to the alpine pastures, and trails to the Angon waterfall or the Marais de l'Enfer (Hell's Marshes). GPX tracks are available upon request or via the website lac-annecy.com.
